I have owned him since he was 8 months old and he was one of the easiest dogs I have even had the pleasure of training. He was fully trained by 12 months demonstrating superior ability and intelligence. I have had many seasons trialling Raven and many of which we won also gaining numerous awards at Open Stakes.
The best thing about Raven is that he also sits on the peg with me on a big days shooting and has the ability to shut off which very few trial spaniels have and you will see him with me most days. When I am loading he will gently rest waiting to be handled and behaves more like a Labrador in these situations and when you click him off to work he goes like a rocket.
These amazing abilities and wonderful temperament have been thrown down to his puppies making them exceptionally easy to train and obsessive retrievers. The better the natural instinct to retrieve, the easier it is to train. I would like to think that Raven is the outcross that everyone is looking for as he is not a popularly bred dog but matches up to more popular well known pedigrees.
