Even though Jake only needed two points to become a champion, I still believe, he is a fine dog. Spending most of his time, shooting with me. Whether it would be grouse shooting, just a walk up or even sitting patiently on a 1000 bird day, whilst a I am loading, he is still happy to perform.
His puppies have lots of drive, and hunt like spaniles. They are not hard, but have a soft nature, which makes them easy to train. The advantages with using Jake at stud, are when you have a bitch, which is slightly timid and has any quirky inhibitions, his genes seem to rectify it, producing, trainable, atheletic dogs, even out of the worst of bitches.
