FTW Raven Inquest
Glencarw Rhys.
Truly amazing dog, I bought him at 10 months old, at 10 months old he had already had 5 owners. Rejected beacuse of his solid black colour and the fact that he was not bred from two Field Trial Champions. But when I was shown thsi dog I noticed something special about him. He had the ability to hunt well but also shut off and become extremly calm something he has passed on down through his line. He would sit all day whilst I was shooting but when you clicked him off to hunt he was one of teh hardest hunting dogs you will ever see.
I used to promote him as the outcross that everybody should use in their breeding but people thought it was only me promoting myself. But he went on to prove me right. He was the black and white dog that could be mated to all types of bitches and he would do the rarity of stamping his bitches that is to mean he would produce his own traits in his off spring to differently bred bitches, something that most dogs will never do. Most dogs only compliment the bitches.
He finally sired the irish championship winner, the english championship winner also many other champions and winners through europe. Truly something special, it was lovely to see John Bailey win the irish championship with a bitch that we had bred sired by Raven Inquest namely Field Trials Champion and Championship winner Countryways Judy. Video of this can be seen on youtube
